Teeze is a dating app with a difference, because we focus not only on people matching but meeting face to face. We are a team of five based at Dogpatch Labs; Irelands forefront startup and innovation hub. This is Ireland’s leading entrepreneur and accelerator program. Teeze is also a graduate of the Department of Trades ‘Back for Business’ program which provides business training, mentoring and a peer network for returning emigrants to Ireland. Our vision is to be the world’s leading dating app in the after match experience. A place where people are certain to turn their digital relationship into something real. There is not much user interaction and no real outcome or result. It’s awkward and inconsistent to suggest a date. We have an app that addresses this, essentially making it much easier for matches to meetup. Let’s set a current scenario in mobile dating.
Online dating in Ireland is much smaller than it is in the United Kingdom. There are quite a few solid dating sites that you can use in order to find your perfect match. Swanned , the brainchild of British entrepreneurs Natalie Smith, 36, and Isla Cameron, 38, aims to eliminate the off-putting challenges of dating in a foreign country by linking people with similar life experience and shared interests.
The app, which is being rolled out in Sydney, makes it easier to build lasting relationships thanks to a variety of features which help singletons find a partner with an understanding of their heritage and past, and a common goal for the future. Each profile reveals how long the user has lived in Australia and if they intend to stay, to reduce the risk of falling for someone who is preparing to return to Europe. A ‘hometown’ section which publicly lists your place of origin acts as a conversation starter and allows users to narrow searches to people from their native area, if they so wish. UK and Irish focused personal preference questions like ‘cup or tea or vodka martini?
Character filters allow users to say what they want from the outset, through ‘make or break’ traits like ‘non-smoker’, ‘early bird’ and ‘night owl’ to avoid wasted hours of chat between singletons who simply aren’t suited. And unlike traditional apps like Tinder, where matching is a constant guessing game, Swanned users can see who has liked them up front without endless hours of swiping.
Each profile will clearly feature the user’s hometown to get the chat flowing. Because it’s never fun to fall in love with someone who is about to leave. Prefer early-birds to night-owls? Swanned makes it easy to set the things that matter to you. Source: Swanned.

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation GDPR came into effect on May 25, , and under the new rules, companies that collect, store, and manage user information are held to strict standards and security requirements. Everything you need to know about the new general data protection regulations.
Irish regulators will seek to understand whether or not the tech giant — with respect to Google Ireland Limited — has a legal basis for processing user location data and whether or not these processes are transparent enough to satisfy GDPR. Google told the Associated Press that the company “will cooperate fully” and “continue[s] to work closely with regulators and consumer associations across Europe.
According to the data regulator, a statutory inquiry will investigate how user data is processed, whether or not transparency requirements under GDPR have been met, and if MTCH is meeting its obligations when it comes to data subject requests and rights. A study published in January by the Norwegian Consumer Council NCC suggested that Tinder, Grindr, OkCupid, and other dating services are gathering highly sensitive information from users — including sexual preferences, precise locations, and online activity logs — and handing over this information to third parties for the purpose of targeted advertising.
The NCC has filed complaints with local authorities, requesting investigations into these apps on local levels, as these apps may have breached GDPR requirements. Infringing data processing principles and lawful processing requirements have triggered most of the fines rather than cybersecurity failures. Have a tip?
